Francis Wolle papers, 1917-1947.

The papers consist of letters to his parents, family and friends, maps, and articles written during WWI, as well as memorabilia from the war; letters to and from former students serving in WWII; research for Wolle's dissertation on Fitz-James O'Brien and the completed manuscript. There are scripts, music, photographs, and programs from Wolle's plays performed at CU-Boulder, as well as information on theater design, international theater, and individual theater designers.

Hilda Doolittle, or H.D., (1886-1961) was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on September 10, 1886. She has been described as a premier Imagist poet although her greatest body of work can be traced to later in her life, during and directly after World War II. She spent most of her life living, traveling and keeping up with her friend and fellow writer Winifred Bryher.
